Registry Tiers

Three stages of joining Landblock — from a simple proof anchor to full cross-border federation.

Overview

Landblock uses a tiered conformance model. Registries don't have to commit to full integration upfront. They start at the level that makes sense for their capacity and legal environment, then graduate over time.

Tier 1 — Mirror

The entry point. A registry publishes cryptographic proofs of its records to Landblock. That's it. No change to internal systems. No change to legal processes. No bilateral agreements required.

In Mirror Mode, the registry decides what to publish and when. External parties can verify proofs, but the underlying data stays entirely with the registry. This is the lowest-friction way to make a registry's records globally verifiable.

Tier 2 — Verified

A Verified registry has completed a Landblock conformance review and participates in the federated verification system. Cross-registry queries can be routed to and from it. Verified registries use DID-based identity (W3C Decentralized Identifiers) so that parties can prove rights without exposing personal data.

Tier 3 — Full Federation

Full Federation registries have direct relationships with other registries in the network. They can share evidence, participate in dispute interoperability, and use the full Federation Liaison Service — including the facilitated registry-to-registry channel for complex cross-border queries.

Graduating between tiers

Graduation from Mirror to Verified requires a conformance audit approved by the Landblock DAO. From Verified to Full Federation requires a direct federation agreement with at least one other Full Federation registry. Each stage is voluntary — a registry can remain at Mirror indefinitely.
